Plaid Suit (Blazer & Pants): Banana Republic (Blazer Here) // Plaid Blouse: Forever 21 (Similar Here & Here )// Shoes: Zara (Sold out) //Bag: Gucci (Old)

If I told you the struggle I went through to get this plaid suit, you wouldn’t believe me… So during one of my spontaneous Fifth Avenue splurges, I felt the need to purchase an abundance of plaid pieces. Okay- maybe just four but you get the picture (& don’t believe the hype about Fifth Avenue. While you’ll find Bergdorf Goodman, Fendi, Louis Vuitton & Cartier located here, there’s still H&M, Zara Flagship, & Abercrombie & Fitch ). I have been yearning for a plaid suit since I laid my eyes on Andy’s plaid suit (Check out her wonderful blog Here). So I started my journey at Zara’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue and of course the suit was sold out, being that it was an old season look. I settled for their plaid skort- which I’ll post sometime soon. Then I made my way down towards 57th & 5ave, stopping in every store that may potentially carry the suit. Just when I was about to give up & go home, becuase I spent more than enough money on foolishness, I saw the plaid pants on a manican in Tommy Hilfiger. WELL!  If ya ever been to TH on 5th avenue, then you know how overwhelming that store is. There’s about 4+ floors- none carrying the suit I was searching high & low for.  I wasn’t pleased; I walked out of the store with my head down. As I reached to grap pull the front door, a sales associate says “Just so you know, I saw a really cute green & blue plaid suit at Banana Republic just yesterday.” To make a long story medium <– lol, I bought the suit at Banana Republic at 50% (family & friends coupon). If the suit is still available, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND trying it on before purchasing. If you’re petite- definitely buy petite. You won’t want to chance the regular sizes. The pants run really weird in regular sizes- at least for my short muscular legs.

So here’s how I wore the suit to work. If you’re in the corporate world, you know how limited you are when dressing for work. I could have easily worn the plaid suit with the plaid blouse as shown above, but I wanted to be on the safe side so I paired the suit with a white chiffon blouse. I thought the strappy Zara heels were way too trendy for work so I swapped them for these oxblood patent-leather court shoes. Ivanka Trump makes among the most comfortable leather & patent leather heels! Just pure quality at affordable prices! Auntie highly recommends investing in a pair. Many department stores (Burlington Coat Factory, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Century 21) carry them.

Suit (Blazer and pants): Banana Republic// White Blouse: H&M (I prefer this one actually)// Shoes: Ivanka Trump (Black Ones Here ) // Jewelry (Necklace, Earrings & Ring): H&M // Manicure: OPI Linkin Park After Dark (Here)
