Shopping Chronicles

Who takes shopping as seriously as I do?

Shopping at H&M in NYC is NEVER an easy task. Last Thursday alone, I visited 5 different H&M locations. I was adamant about finding this top in my size. It started months ago when I first saw Wendy wearing it on her blog. I couldn’t justify spending $60 on an H&M button down, so I wrote the top off. Fast forward to a few months later and I see the top in the sale rack in a size 2. It was the last one and I knew it wouldn’t fit; but more importantly, I knew I wasn’t going to leave it for someone else to enjoy. Nope, not on my watch. So in typical Chrissy fashion, I bought the top and headed down the block to another H&M location; I wanted to see if I could exchange it for my size. Well…the top was at the other location (NOT ON SALE) but only in size 2s! At this point, I’ve made up my mind that I’m going home with my actual size… so, I change my heels to flats, and start walking all over the city to different H&M locations. 5 locations later, I finally found the last size 4 in the biggest H&M I’ve ever seen: 48th & 5th avenue location. I definitely prefer a size 6, but beggars can’t be choosers.

You know it didn’t stop there yet? I had to rummage through all of H&M’s 700 floors, which was a big mistake! I came out with so many things I didn’t need- like this belt and leather pants. With no intentions to pair the three together, in the end, I like the way it came out. I have an affinity for chambray shirts and red bottoms. The blue compliments the red sole so nicely. I particularly like how the white belt with black trimming completed this look as well.

So what have we learned from my rambling?

1. H&M is funny business. Each store determines what goes on sale and what doesn’t.

2. If it’s on sale but not your size, buy it anyway. You’ll eventually, if done diligently, find your size at another location!

I love you for reading this post! God bless you!
