Excess Weight

Dropped some pounds… and some people.

I almost didn’t publish this post because I was so bothered by how ill-fitting my clothes were on me. As mentioned in prior posts, I lost around 10lbs as a result of fasting with my church in February, and also after getting the flu. Trust, I did not complain…until now. While I am thrilled I can now wear old favorites that couldn’t fit in the past, I’m not so happy about some clothes that are now too big. Its nothing my sewing machine can’t alter…yeah, as soon as I learn how to sew LOL.

It is never a terrible thing to let go of excess baggage. I think it goes without saying that we must let go of people and things that weigh us down.  In this season of my life, I am unapologetically getting rid of excess weight. My new job  (testimony will be shared when the Lord releases me to) has a free gym in the office so I have been taking full advantage of that. I’ve also been getting rid of excess weight in the form of grudges. I hadn’t realized I held a few grudges against people until a month ago. Remember I spoke about how forgiveness is more for you than the person (s) you are forgiving? Yeah, well I’m taking my own advice.

Last, but certainly not least, I no longer force communication with people.

(STOP RIGHT THERE. For those friends that haven’t heard from me in a while, this does not apply to you. Stop reading my posts for subliminal’s. I stopped subliminally posting messages  after ‘AOL instant messenger status’ days died 8-10 years ago. I am a full grown woman. I need not check you via blog posts or social media.)

I am specifically talking about people that you’ve been forcing relationships with. Family, friends, partners, dogs lol. It reminds me of struggle ponytails. If all 3 inches of your hair cannot be bundled together via hair band, don’t push it. It’s not by force. How many attempts before you let go and let God? If you learn to fight your own battles, God won’t fight them for you.

God bless you!
