Testimony Tuesday: There Are Levels to This

Try to unlock and reach every level you can possibly reach.

Obviously I’m crushing hard on this blazer. I’ve worn it approximately five times already. But in more important news, I wanted to briefly talk about this Kim Burrell issue. Now I know all of my readers are not Christians but I promise the message is still beneficial.

For those of you who do not know Kim Burrell, she is a Gospel artist/pastor who was recently criticized for a sermon she preached against homosexuality. The VIDEO was released a few days before she was to air on Ellen DeGeneres show and perform a song with Pharrell for the Hidden Figures (or Fences lol) soundtrack. Research the story for more info. In the video, she may or may not have alluded to the fact that homosexuals will die with their demonic spirit if they don’t repent and be delivered.

Now, this is a fashion and lifestyle blog so I’m not about to dedicate a Testimony Tuesday post to what I deem to be the truth or not the truth in her sermon. But I will talk about LEVELS

LEVELS… guys.

There are levels, or dimensions if you may (for those of you who understand spiritual talk) to any faith you believe in. This Christian walk is not equal to all who profess their Christian faith. There are baby Christians. There are mature Christians. There are Christians who need to be fed milk. And those who require and desire food. The Scriptures (Holy Bible) is not a one dimensional book. Scripture says in Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two- edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Depending on whose eyes lay on Scriptures determines the revelation received. An unbeliever ( someone who does not believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ; someone who does not believe Jesus is God) is not going to receive the same revelation as a believer. A baby Christian will not read the Scriptures and receive the same revelation as a mature Christian. Many won’t understand this simple truth, but it is nonetheless truth. And as a Christian, I depend daily on the Holy Spirit for said revelations because I understand that it is only by HIM, that these revelations come.

But there are levels in pretty much everything. Just like there are levels at your job, (an assistant is not on the same hierarchy level as a CEO) there are levels in different faiths. There are levels in knowledge. There are levels in heaven. There are levels in hell. (YES. Everyone ain’t going to enjoy or suffer the same! ) So don’t get your panties in a bunch when people have different revelations in their faith. There are really levels to this… and it makes me sad that people become complacent and settle at level 1. Here are examples, you get to your dream job and settle as an assistant. You give your life to Christ and settle without digging deeper for more… You start a business and settle at $10,000 a year in profit… I mean the list goes on. And I’m now understanding that people give in to complacency because of ignorance. So many people don’t even understand that there is more to be done…MORE TO LEARN!

My challenge to you is to first come to the knowledge and understanding that there are levels in almost everything. Then ask yourself this simple question: What level am I trying to get to? The road will not be swift or easy, but it is worth it.

Cute outfit followed by a great post! I couldn’t agree more. What I have concluded is that the more I seek God and build a personal relationship with Him, I become inspired and realize my potential to do more. I know fellow Christians that are not on the same “level” hence they only think about “reality” vs the “supernatural.” Love how you always incorporate your faith on your blog!

Amen! Thank you Debbie! Great point about the natural vs supernatural!
