Only by His Grace.

Today’s Testimony Tuesday post is about a revelation I received during my holiday in Ghana. One thing that I have come to understand is how the devil works. And I believe it is really important to be aware of his tactics and schemes in order to overcome them.

I’ve realized that anytime I make a statement regarding something I’ll never do, the enemy finds away to tempt me to do that very thing. For example, if I say I will never wear blue; shortly after, I will find myself being attracted to all shades and hues of the color blue.

I believe this is the reason we find many Christians at the forefront of scandals which they preached so passionately about. We sometimes hear of preachers who spoke so strongly against divorce, getting divorced themselves. We hear of Christians who speak so strongly against abortion, committing abortion. I mean the list goes on…

The Holy Spirit revealed to me that we cannot overcome the enemy with our own might. This is why Christians must strongly depend and rely on the Holy Spirit for understanding and strength. Now, instead of making statements saying I will never do something, I add that I’ll never do something “by the grace of God”… because that is really what we all need to get by and to get through. God’s grace.

We should stay in prayer about these things, asking the Holy Spirit to help us overcome the world and the ways and devices of the devil. God bless you 🙂
