Successful people typically use what they already have to get what they want.
WHAT I’M WEARING:

Today marks two years since I obtained my International Master of Business Administration! Yay! Major shout out to Facebook for the reminder, lol. While gazing at my graduation picture that I posted two years ago today, I couldn’t help but be a bit disappointed in myself for not utilizing the degree. You see, the whole purpose in me obtaining an international MBA was to aide me in my pursuits in branching out of the industry I work in now. Having extremely specialized experience in one field, I thought an international MBA could make me more marketable when I looked for opportunities elsewhere. Well… here we are, two years later. I’m still in my respective field; and I have no one to blame but myself.
Those who utilize and make the best of their resources are usually more productive and successful than those who don’t.
Am I the only person who makes excuses for reasons why I cannot succeed or be productive? I often tell myself, “If I just had this…” or “If I just had more money…” or “If I could just buy this…” And it sucks because I KNOW BEYOND A DOUBT that I have just what I need to accomplish whatever it is that I want to accomplish. But FEAR! Fear creeps in and tells us, NO YOU’RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. YOU’RE NOT CAPABLE. YOU DON’T HAVE ENOUGH RESOURCES.”
But God has given us EVERYTHING we need to accomplish and succeed whatever we want to do. Sometimes, we’re just not completing inventory.
If you’ve ever worked in retail, you know that oftentimes, you have to count inventory. You count all the goods in the store so that you’re aware of what’s needed and what’s not needed… Now imagine if we did that with ourselves. Imagine if we counted the blessings, the characteristics, the resources in our own hands. We will truly be amazed at all that we have and own, to accomplish all that we want.
Do you recall the story of when God called Moses to save His people (the Israelites) from bondage in Egypt? Moses started to make all these excuses as to why he wasn’t equipped and/or qualified. Then in Exodus 4:2 the LORD said to him, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied. The LORD said “throw it on the ground.” Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it…. This story is so important to me because it reminds me to look into my hands. Those YouTube videos I want to make with no equipment…what’s in my hands? That clothing line I plan to start with no money…what’s in my hands?
So today I ask you, What’s in YOUR hands, my friends?
You are so right my sister. Thanks for the reminder! God has blessed us with everything. We just need to use it and use it well and he will continue provide as He always does.
