When you find yourself going through something you ALWAYS criticize. Time to take a bite out of the humble pie.

Today’s post will be extremely vague [ because admitting that I am a hypocrite is embarrassing enough] as I do not feel comfortable sharing specific details. You all should know by now that I don’t care much about sharing my weaknesses. The only issue today is that it involves loved ones that might be sensitive about their story being told on my blog.
This might be my second time as a believer, suffering from something that I once passionately criticized. (Cues scripture: Do Not Judge, Lest Ye Be Judged). For example, can you imagine criticizing a rape victim and attributing the cause of the rape to how provocatively the woman dresses. Then, you, modestly dressed, find yourself the victim of rape. This is an extreme situation but I wanted to paint the picture for you.
This is how I felt when I recently went through something that made me eat a piece of humble pie. You see, humble pie, causes you to be reallllyyy quiet. The things you once so adamantly disapproved of or criticized can sometimes creep up at your door. Jesus once said, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41). If I never took heed to that scripture before, I sure do now.
The truth is, some of the things you never thought you would struggle with could be the very cause of your downfall. And if you don’t literally do as Jesus says: WATCH and PRAY, you might find yourself in a situation that seems unreal. This the reason for God’s Word. God’s Word not only edifies, but it also tells you what to do to avoid such circumstances. It encourages you to be humble, but also to be ALERT and PROACTIVE about avoiding things.
For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. (Matthew 23:12)
So today, I’m really quiet. I’m still eating my humble pie, and letting the Holy Spirit work in me. I just want to encourage you to be very humble and not to criticize anyone’s situation. You might be next in line to be tempted by the devil. 🙁 (THIS DOES NOT MEAN CORRECT SOMEONE WHEN THEY ARE IN SIN OR STAY AWAY FROM CHRISTIANS ACTIVELY LIVING A LIFE OF SIN.)
Just in case your mind goes wandering:
- No I’m not pregnant
- No I didn’t kill anyone
- No I didn’t steal anyone’s husband…
- Yes I am just fine and still laughing at the devil 🙂
