This year I am devoted to finding out what pleases God, according to Ephesians 5: 10. Aand one of the things the Lord is showing me is that He is pleased with those who create intentional postures of stillness just to hear from Him.
This past weekend, I ministered three days straight and I found myself getting overwhelmed in thought because there was so much I needed to get done! From my cohort course, to preparing for ministry, to cleaning my house, to taking care of Chloe, to trying to go to my friend’s book signing/launch, etc. But I heard the Lord say “Be still, know that I am God and I want to speak to you; share mysteries and secrets with you, and give you the strength to accomplish everything you desire to.”
I share this short revelation with you as perhaps you may also be consumed with the cares of this world. If you’re a busy body like me, you probably need to be STILL and create an atmosphere conducive to hearing the Lord’s voice. He takes pleasure with communing with His people. Unfortunately, His people are too busy with Him- and thoughts of Him are simply a fleeting idea throughout our days!
This weekend, be Still. God wants to speak to you.
