The Most Important Thing to Do in the Year 2021

I know most people are ready for 2020 to be over; don’t forget to do this most important thing.

WHAT I’M WEARING:

Sweater: H&M ( try this) ; Leather Trousers: Boohoo (try this) ; Boots: Stuart WeitzmanBag: ZaraSunglasses: Fully Covered Still Fly (use code NEWYEAR for 40% off everything)

Like most people during this time of the year, I did some much needed reflecting and goal setting for 2021. It’s been routine for me to be ushered into the new year with a renewered mindset. So the other day during my devotion, as I was reading John 6 I was so blessed I found it expedient to share.

You may have many goals for the new year. You may even plan to work diligently towards something in the new year. But I want to let you know that NOTHING you do will be more important than what I will discuss today. Nothing you do will profit you much if you don’t also do this:

Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures [ and leads] to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you; for God the Father has authorized Him and put His seal on Him. John 6:27 AMP version

As you make goals to generate more income in the new year, make sure you’re also focused on eternal security.

When you die (because truth is you will die some day), there will be judgment. But YOU get to decide what kind of judgment. You can experience eternal damnation, which means you’re going to hell to suffer forever. Or you can experience eternal glory with Christ Jesus Who is Lord.

The choice is truly yours to decide.

Jesus is the ONLY way.

Make a relationship with Jesus your main priority in 2021. Give your whole life to Him, and He will give you an abundant life that is secured forever. If you are wondering how to do just that, the Bible says in John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”

Jesus is God and we are to believe in Him. He was sent to die on the cross for our sins so that WE can be in right standing with God and have a relationship with Him. So that we can obtain this eternal life that I speak about.

These are the four things I suggest you do to live an abundant life in 2021:

OBEDIENCE, TRUST, DEPENDENCE, FAITH.

  1. Obedience- You must obey Jesus and all that He commands you to do. The Prophet Samuel once said in 1 Samuel 15:22 that the Lord delights more in obedience than He does in sacrifices and in offerings. In this year, commit to living an obedient life so that so Christ can commit to giving you life.
  2. Trust- You must place your trust in Jesus. Proverbs 3:5 tells us to trust in the Lord with all of our heart and lean not on our own understanding. I do not know what 2021 holds for you. But one thing I can assure you is that the enemy has plans to destroy you. He will try to attack your mind, and try to destroy the trust you have in Jesus. But remember not to lean on your own understanding of things. God is worthy to be trusted. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
  3. Dependence- You must totally depend on Jesus in 2021. Human beings are fickle and are liars. Whoever depends on humans plans to be disappointed. But if you depend on God, He will always come through for you. John 15:5, Jesus says that apart from Him we cannot do anything. In 2021, depend on Jesus for everything, and He will give you everything.
  4. Faith- You must have a holy faith in the Lord in 2021. Without faith you can’t even please God. The book of Ephesians tells us to find out what pleases God. So if you want your life to please God in 2021, you must have unwavering faith in His ability to keep and sustain you, and to reward you for diligently seeking him, according to Hebrews 11:6

My prayer for you in 2021 is that the Lord will visit you and give you a spirit of wisdom and understanding to know Him. That revelation knowledge will be your portion, and that you will desire to go deeper in Him.

Happy New Year! Lift up the Name of Jesus in 2021!
