Can’t help but to notice the trends.

This week, as my career as a full-time blogger would have it, I was doing research and scrolling through Instagram reels to gain some inspiration. Regarding fashion reels, I noticed the videos that went viral typically included women dressed a bit more scantily or tight fitting.
Now this doesn’t come as a shock to me. I’ve always been aware of just how ‘unpopular’ modest style/fashion is compared to risqué style. And I never thought I’d be rewarded with an audience based on my modest approach to fashion. But this week’s research did bring about a little bit of discouragement for a few more reasons than one.
By the grace of God, I’ve been blogging consistently since 2013. My blog, like so many other OG blogs, have gone through many transitions, many style metamorphoses; and I’ve invested so much of my time and money to my brand. So to see how quickly someone’s brand can “take off” just by showing a little bit of skin can be a little frustrating.
But I am reminded of the constant overarching theme of my brand blog: to bring praise to glorious grace of Jesus Christ.
And sis, that has never been on trend, And never will be according to John 15:18.
If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. Joh 15:18 NKJV
This isn’t to say I don’t go viral because I am a modest fashion blogger. Maybe I just lack style, who knows. And I’m also not saying that if you’re popular or going viral than you’re not in the “will” of God. Because truth is, there is a kingdom revelation that needs to be grasped concerning popularity. Fame is important for the kingdom of God! And fame should be celebrated, especially if you’re famous for the right things. Remember, even Jesus was famous!
But I do think it’s important that we maintain our values and beliefs, even if they’re not popular. Because conforming to the world’s idea of acceptance and popularity is dangerous. So to the women reading this that want to dress modestly to glorify God but also want to be accepted and popular, know that doing God’s will has gained you acceptance and popularity in Heaven. And that’s far more important than popularity, vitality, and fame on earth!
Thank you so much for this message and I’m glad 💗
