Answering a question I received on Instagram in detail.
WHAT I’M WEARING:
Zara blazer (try this) ; H&M ribbed tank ; J. crew jeans ; Public Desire heels ; YSL bag
Without exposing too much of her identity or story, the woman who asked me this question is married, older than most women trying to conceive, but hasn’t been successful as of yet. She is not barren; she has conceived many many years before her marriage to her husband. But she has grown weary over the years after failed attempts to conceive. Today, I endeavor to give in detail an answer to her question.
Does God Keep All of His Promises?
The easy way to answer this would be to say yes. But unless you have encountered or have been exposed to the character of God, you may not believe this. Life isn’t easy. Some of our deepest desires and prayers have yet to manifest. Some of us have been on a years long journey of believing God for something that has not come to us yet. I do not want to speak from a place of insensitivity.
However, I can say without any doubt in my mind that God keeps all of His promises.
God is not a man, that he might lie, or a son of man, that he might change his mind. Does he speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill? Numbers 23:19
Some may argue, according to the Scriptures, God has changed His mind before. But I don’t think that’s true. the Bible says in Romans 11:34, For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor? In order to conclude that God’s mind has been changed before, one must know what God’s mind is. I think it’s safer to say that God’s ways can change. But His mind towards us never changes. And the way in which we can possibly change the “ways of God” is through prayer and through a change in our OWN ways.
Humans change their minds often. Humans break promises often. But God does not because He can not. So whatever He has promised to give you, He will surely give you. It’s only left for you to receive it. Now To receive from God is a discussion for another day.
How long do I wait for the promise of God?
